fost+lound was born out of frustration — and a mountain of lost property.

We’re a small group of school mums who were tired of watching jackets, drink bottles, shoes (and sometimes even whole school bags) vanish into the black hole that is Lost & Found. Week after week, we’d hear the familiar line: “I checked!” — only to discover our kids had barely glanced at the overflowing pile of unlabeled belongings. And let’s be honest... very little ever made its way home.

After yet another trip to school and soccer practice to chase down lost items, we realised the problem wasn’t just about finding things — it was about reuniting them quickly before they disappeared for good (or ended up with another student). That’s when the idea for fost+lound was born: a simple, tech-smart way to get lost items back to their rightful owner fast.

And while we were solving the lost property headache, we figured… why not help tackle the never-ending challenge of school fundraising too?

Now, fost+lound doesn’t just reunite belongings — it also empowers school communities to raise valuable funds that go straight back into supporting students. Two birds. One very clever, little system.
